After a very long time I'm back but I've moved here: http://meltedfabrics.blogspot.com/ as I can't longer access this account without signing out of my e-mail first.

These are the photos of the finished piece "Hera". The final piece is 60cms x 80cms. I used lots of different scraps of fabric and yarn, beads, sequins and some hat net. The piece was lightly melted and burnt in places to give an "antique" feel.

This is a sneak peek at a new piece of work called Hera ( you can see another work in progress in the previous entry). I'll post the full image once it's finished.

This a piece called Red Rabbit that's borrowed imagery from The Shins song Red Rabbits. I don't know much about what the song means but I was searching for inspiration one day when I was listening to this song. I've used a lot of embroidered stitching on the couple in this piece. I don't usually use a lot of heavy stitching but it was interesting to see the contrast between the muted colours in layered fabric and the bright colours in the thread.


















Below is a work in progress that I just started last night.

Father and Child (pictured above) won the award for Innovation at the Tiverton Art Society Summer Exhibition this year!

The exhibition is open until Sunday and is located at Tiverton High School, Devon.
